On the occasion, Hashoo Foundation Project Manager Akbar Ali, along with the delegation, gave a detailed briefing on the project’s objectives, ongoing activities and proposed measures.

Awareness sessions and joint initiatives

The meeting agreed that special awareness sessions on climate change, environmental protection and social responsibilities would be held for students and teachers in schools, colleges and universities. Joint initiatives for environmental protection and sustainable development would also be promoted, in cooperation with the local community, youth and the relevant government departments.

Involvement of the local population

District Council Chairman Shay Mukhtar Baloch said it was essential to take the local population into confidence and involve them in planning and practical activities in order to deal with the effects of climate change and complete development projects effectively. He stressed that if the projects created jobs, local youth and residents should be given preference so that the benefits of development activities reached the people directly.
