BALOCHISTAN: The Balochistan Civil Service Academy (BCSA), in collaboration with Accountability Lab Pakistan, on Monday began a three-day training course titled Digital Governance for government officers from various provincial departments.

The course aims to ensure timely delivery of services to the public through digital governance and the use of Artificial Intelligence in government work.

Opening ceremony

At the opening of the training course, Adviser to the Chief Minister Balochistan on Women Development Dr Rubaba Buledi and BCSA Director General Dr Hafeez Jamali addressed participants from various government departments.

In her welcome address, Dr Rubaba Buledi stressed digitising the system of governance in Balochistan to strengthen public trust in government institutions.

She said, “As a government, we want to ensure better governance by digitising all government affairs. The skills you will learn in this workshop will be extremely important and will help our officers serve the people of Balochistan.”

Praising the BCSA’s efforts in holding modern courses for government officers, she said the Punjab government had recently launched the E-Khidmat service, so why could similar services not be started in Balochistan.

To bridge the gap between the public and the government, she said, services must be launched that can resolve public problems in time. For this, the work of all government departments must be digitised and Artificial Intelligence (AI) must be used to speed up government work.

She further said, “This century is the century of data. Until we learn new things, we cannot bring change in society.”

Details of the training course

BCSA Director General Dr Hafeez Jamali thanked Accountability Lab Pakistan for its support in holding quality training sessions for the participants. He said, “This training course will help the BCSA and the participants in learning the methods of digital governance, using Artificial Intelligence in daily government work and applying redesign thinking to their official matters.”

The course, held for 30 participants from various government departments, will conclude on 4 October.

It will include sessions on digital governance tools and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), aimed at improving government work and ensuring quality services for the public.
