Trump warns he will be “Mr Veto” if Democrats win control of Congress

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has warned that he will become “Mr Veto” if the Democratic Party wins a majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the midterm elections.

In an interview with a US newspaper, he said that if the Democrats took control of Congress, he would become “Mr Veto” and would not allow them to spoil things.

He also said that after some time, the two parties could hold talks to settle matters.

According to the US president, there are examples of governments running even without the support of the House of Representatives or the Senate.

He said that if the Democrats’ bills were vetoed repeatedly, they might come forward themselves for a deal after a month or two.
