DHO Kech visits Turbat Central Jail, promises doctor twice a week

TURBAT: District Health Officer Kech Dr Abdul Rauf Rind visited the District Central Jail Turbat, where he held an important meeting with District Superintendent of Jail Munir Ahmed Shay Tagri.

During the meeting, issues related to the Health Department in the central jail, the provision of medical facilities to inmates and other public health matters were discussed in detail.

The lack of a permanent doctor in the jail was also discussed on the occasion.

Giving an assurance to resolve the issue, District Health Officer Kech Dr Abdul Rauf Rind said the Health Department of Kech district would provide a doctor two days a week. The doctor would visit the jail, examine sick inmates and provide them with the necessary treatment.

During the meeting, jail officials also requested spraying in the jail to protect against mosquitoes and other insects. District Health Officer Kech Dr Abdul Rauf Rind acted on the request immediately and directed the officials concerned to carry out spraying in the jail.

On the occasion, District Superintendent of Jail Munir Ahmed Shay Tagri thanked District Health Officer Kech Dr Abdul Rauf Rind for his cooperation in providing medical facilities to inmates and for giving prompt attention to the jail’s health-related problems.

He expressed the hope that cooperation between the Health Department and the jail administration would help provide better medical facilities to inmates and resolve problems of health and hygiene.
