Parts of Ajay Devgn’s Juhu bungalow demolished over illegal construction

MUMBAI: Parts of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s bungalow in Mumbai’s Juhu area have been demolished in action against alleged illegal construction.
According to Mumbai’s civic administration, interior changes and other construction work were being carried out in the bungalow without the necessary permission. Indian media reports say the action was taken a few days after a notice was issued to stop the construction work.
Civic officials say the work continued despite the notice, so it was decided to demolish the parts concerned.
Notice and allegations
Ajay Devgn’s bungalow spans 7,802 square feet. According to the civic body, changes were being made to the interior of the bungalow, including raising walls and altering windows, along with other construction work. Officials maintain that the necessary civic permission had not been obtained for this work.
According to the report, the civic administration had issued a formal notice on 10 September under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act. It directed that construction work be stopped immediately and that the relevant permits and documents be submitted.
Cardamom advertisement case
Ajay Devgn is also in the news these days because of another matter. Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration has issued a show-cause notice to Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan and Tiger Shroff over a cardamom advertisement. The authority says the advertisement is allegedly promoting a banned product.
On the film front, meanwhile, Ajay Devgn’s run of success continues. The latest instalment of his popular suspense thriller franchise is performing strongly in cinemas and has earned more than Rs400 crore at the global box office.
