ISLAMABAD: Rana Sanaullah, Adviser to the Prime Minister and a senator, has said the sisters of the PTI founder are in jail because they wanted to march on Islamabad and spread chaos.

Speaking in the Senate session, he said all matters had been placed before the Supreme Court. He said their own lawyer had himself mentioned in the Supreme Court all the facilities given in jail.

Rana Sanaullah said there was no difference between the report given to the Supreme Court and the one given to him. He said that when Noreen Niazi’s health worsened yesterday, she was shifted to hospital immediately.

He said Noreen Niazi and the PTI founder’s sisters are in jail because they wanted to spread chaos and march on Islamabad.

Response to Kamran Murtaza’s statement

Rana Sanaullah said Senator Kamran Murtaza had said that if the state did not adopt such an attitude, he would not say anything. He said that when the state has been given the status of a mother, such words cannot be used. He said similar remarks had been made a short while ago about the martyrs.

Rana Sanaullah said personal ego should not be carried into collective ego and interest.

Falak Naz Chitrali’s allegation

Earlier, PTI Senator Falak Naz Chitrali said the non-political sisters of the PTI founder had been arrested and that Noreen Niazi was unwell. She said Ms Niazi had a heart attack at night. She said Ms Niazi’s daughter was not being allowed to meet her mother.

She demanded the release of all three sisters of the PTI founder and said perhaps such cruelty had not happened even during martial law. She appealed to Maryam Nawaz to stop atrocities against women.

Falak Naz Chitrali said police raided the house of MNA Iqbal Afridi at 4am and women were taken away from there.

JUI Senator Kamran Murtaza said a minister had violated the sanctity of the Senate today. He said a narrative was being built about Maulana Fazlur Rehman and given to the people, but the Maulana had not said what was being attributed to him, nor had he said anything wrong against the state.

Kamran Murtaza called Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s remark that the House should be given respect a good one.
