PESHAWAR: The PTI has made its first contact with the federal government after the imposition of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to party sources, former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur contacted the centre on the instructions of the parliamentary party.

Sources said Ali Amin Gandapur was given the mandate for talks at a parliamentary party meeting on 20 October. They said that, before governor’s rule, two key ministers in the federal negotiating team had been approached.

According to sources, the restoration of the Sohail Afridi government and the release of arrested workers are the top priorities.

Governor’s rule was imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 11 October.
