ISLAMABAD: Barrister Aqeel Malik tabled a resolution in the Senate for the formation of a parliamentary committee on election reforms.

Senator Ali Zafar said electoral reforms could be written on paper and presented in an hour. “We throw away the vote. It seems they are joking.”

Barrister Aqeel Malik said the Prime Minister had invited them to sit down. He said they, too, had had reservations in 2018.

Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said the first brick of Pakistan’s system had been laid crooked. He said anyone who snatched even a single vote was a criminal.

He said those who toyed with the state had stolen the election. “Is the economy in Pakistan not ruined? Is there no political crisis? A bill is suddenly brought and passed.”
