The United States has stepped up efforts to revive talks with Iran, alongside its threats of war. US Vice President JD Vance has sent a letter to Mohsen Rezaei, head of Iran’s security council, in an attempt to restart peace talks.

According to Arab TV, US officials said the vice president wrote the letter to revive the peace talks.

According to US media, the contact has come at a time when US President Donald Trump has threatened to attack Iran again after the midterm elections.

According to the newspaper, JD Vance is also examining whether a diplomatic basis can be set up between the two countries that could prevent a possible short but severe US military strike on Iran after the midterm elections.
