ISLAMABAD: Senator Kamran Murtaza of the JUI-F protested against the speech of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during a Senate session. Uproar then broke out in the House.

Mohsin Naqvi and Kamran Murtaza exchanged harsh words. Responding to the protest, Mohsin Naqvi said, “You will have to listen to me.” He said that those who criticise should also have the courage to hear the reply.

The interior minister said the state looks good as long as one gets benefits from it, but it is not right to spit on the state when one does not get a share. In response, Kamran Murtaza said, “Mind your language.”

During the session, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senator Abid Sher Ali also became angry. Addressing Kamran Murtaza, he said, “You should be ashamed. You abuse your mother.”

Abid Sher Ali and Kamran Murtaza also exchanged bitter words. To keep the situation under control, Minister of State Talal Chaudhry made Abid Sher Ali sit down.

Mohsin Naqvi told the protesting members to find the courage now and listen to the reply. He said it was no way to proceed that anyone could say what they liked and not listen to the other side.

The interior minister further said there should be a difference between remarks about state institutions and political disagreement. He added that those who criticise should also have the courage to listen to the reply.
