Tiger Shroff firing case: suspects planned to scout Emraan Hashmi’s home

NEW DELHI: Investigations into the firing at the residence of Indian actor Tiger Shroff have revealed that the suspects had also planned to trace the home of actor Emraan Hashmi in Mumbai’s Bandra area.

According to a foreign media report, the suspects planned to carry out a recce of Emraan Hashmi’s house, but failed to find the exact location. The Mumbai Crime Branch is investigating the matter further.

Investigating officials suspect that different members of the gang had been given separate responsibilities, including identifying locations and arranging weapons.

According to the report, a man named Kunal allegedly arranged the supply of weapons from Amritsar in the Indian state of Punjab.

The investigation is also examining the movements of two women, named Radha and Babita, who allegedly reached Mumbai on 15 October and stayed at a guest house in Dadar East. The alleged attacker, Rehan, received weapons from the women, after which they left for Delhi on 18 October.

Police are examining the data on the women’s mobile phones to find out whether they had visited places linked to other well-known personalities and shared the information they obtained with the suspects.

During the investigation, the alleged use of fake Aadhaar cards, false names and forged signatures to book hotel rooms has also come to light. Police have obtained hotel records and CCTV footage.

Officials are also examining WhatsApp messages and audio recordings found on the suspects’ mobile phones. Police are also trying to establish the individual roles of the suspects and to identify others who may have helped them or provided financial support.

Possible links to other planned attacks are also being examined in the investigation.
