SOHBATPUR: Deputy Commissioner Sohbatpur Farida Tareen today formally launched the anti-polio campaign in Sohbatpur district by giving polio drops to a child. Officials of the Health Department and other concerned authorities were also present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner Farida Tareen said the Balochistan government was using all available resources to eradicate polio completely, so that future generations could be protected from this dangerous disease and lifelong disability.
She said the eradication of polio was a national responsibility and the cooperation of parents, teachers, ulema, tribal elders and all sections of society was extremely important for achieving this goal.
She urged parents to make sure that all children up to the age of five were given the drops during every polio campaign, and to cooperate fully with the polio teams so that no child was left without the drops.
The Deputy Commissioner directed Health Department officers and polio teams to ensure that all children up to the age of five were given polio drops by going door to door during the campaign.
She further said that effective monitoring of the campaign, regular review of the teams’ performance and achievement of the set targets must be ensured at all costs, so that the government’s mission to make Sohbatpur district polio-free could be accomplished successfully.
