QUETTA: A crackdown was carried out on Sariab Road against tandoors selling underweight bread, on the directions of Quetta Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini and under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner (Sariab).

Strict legal action was taken against those selling underweight bread. Eleven people were arrested and sent to jail.

The district administration said that, in the public interest, action would continue without discrimination against those selling underweight bread and those violating official orders. It said this was to ensure that citizens received bread of the fixed weight and quality.
