NUSHKI: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said the atmosphere of terrorism will be ended in the province and the terrorists will be brought to their end. He said cowardly attacks cannot weaken the government’s resolve and morale.
He strongly condemned the tragic incident at the girls’ college in Nushki. He said that on the previous day BLA terrorists entered the college and wounded three female students.
Two of the wounded students, who had serious injuries, were immediately moved to Quetta, where the government is ensuring the best treatment and care for them. The third student had minor injuries and was treated in Nushki.
The Chief Minister said the terrorists’ aim is to keep Baloch girls away from Education. He asked what kind of Baloch values and traditions allow targeting Baloch girls and shooting innocent students. According to him, these elements try to keep girls away from Education so that they can turn them into suicide bombers.
Educational institutions will not be closed
Mir Sarfraz Bugti made it clear that the Balochistan government will not close schools and colleges under any circumstances. The government has already reopened 3,200 closed schools and will now make these schools, colleges and universities more vibrant. Children will be given opportunities for Education, awareness and employment.
He said that on one side the government is trying to open the doors of institutions such as Oxford and Harvard to its girls, while on the other the terrorists are bent on making them wear suicide jackets and keeping them from knowledge. He said the terrorists have killed a number of professors in the past, and their actions have now reached students. He said the incident should make the intellectuals, professors and civil society of Balochistan think.
The Chief Minister said the doors of the state are always open to those who wish to talk on the basis of reason and within the framework of the state’s constitution and law.
To show solidarity with the wounded students, he announced that a sports gala will be held at BUITEMS University and a Sports Festival will be held at the same college in Nushki in the name of the wounded students. The Sports department will hold a Sports Festival at both places in the name of these brave, proud and courageous girls.
Action against terrorists
The Chief Minister said the government will not give up the pursuit of these killers. He assured the wounded students and their parents that the security forces will reach these oppressors and bring them to justice. He said the government will fight this terrorism and brutality together with the Pakistan Army, the Frontier Corps Balochistan and Balochistan Police.
He said that for the past several days the security forces have been pursuing the terrorists in the mountains and their hideouts, making matchless sacrifices. He said they will be driven out of both urban centres and the mountains, and operations will continue until their end.
Addressing Bashir Zeb, Rahman Gul, Allah Nazar and other terrorists, the Chief Minister said that, working for Indian interests, they have fallen so low that they are targeting unarmed Baloch girls who go to college only to study. He asked that if Allah Nazar’s own children can study in France and elsewhere, do Baloch girls not have the right to study at the college in Nushki?
He said the terrorists use propaganda to try to persuade girls to carry out suicide attacks against the state. The government has already presented several such girls before the media. He said that during questioning, shameful aspects of the terrorists’ vile activities came to light, but it is not appropriate to describe the details in the media or other forums.
The Chief Minister said the government will keep its focus on programmes for youth employment, Business and livelihood. He said the youth of Balochistan will be at the centre of all government efforts, including the youth policy. He said the terrorists’ brutal attacks cannot weaken the government’s intentions and only strengthen its resolve.
