Fertiliser physically verified in Barkhan; traders briefed on PTTS system

BARKHAN: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Saeedur Rehman Kakar, Barkhan Assistant Commissioner Ihsanuddin Kakar and the Agriculture Department’s focal person for fertiliser, Mir Naroz Khan Khetran, carried out a physical verification of fertiliser in Barkhan market. A joint meeting was also held with all fertiliser traders.

The meeting discussed in detail the implementation of the Precursors Tracking and Traceability System (PTTS), the registration of traders and the problems they face. The officials assured traders of help in resolving their difficulties. They stressed effective implementation of government orders.

The meeting also considered the steps needed for the transparent supply of chemical precursors and fertiliser. It also looked at measures to stop illegal smuggling, hoarding and black marketing. Traders were also briefed on the role of the Precursors Committee and the relevant rules.

The officials expressed their resolve to continue effective measures to implement government instructions, ensure transparency in the fertiliser supply system and stop illegal activities.
