RAKHNI: A very important meeting on the Precursors Tracking and Traceability System (PTTS) was held in Rakhni tehsil today. It was held in line with the provincial government’s vision of a “drug-free, peaceful and prosperous Balochistan” and on the special directions of Barkhan Deputy Commissioner Saeed-ur-Rehman Kakar. Assistant Commissioner Rakhni Fahad Hussain Umrani chaired the meeting.

Strict monitoring of fertiliser and chemical precursors

The meeting discussed in detail the effective implementation of PTTS, the transparent supply of chemical precursors and fertilisers, and the prevention of smuggling, hoarding and black marketing.

The Assistant Commissioner Rakhni said the Balochistan government is following a zero-tolerance policy against the misuse of drugs and chemicals. He made it clear that no dealer in Rakhni tehsil would be allowed to sell fertiliser without a licence, without a stock register or without the QR code system.

He added that the system would not only ensure fair distribution of fertiliser but also make it possible to supply fertiliser to farmers at official rates. All dealers were directed to regularly upload the complete record of their stock and sales on the PTTS portal.

Unanimous decisions

All line departments took part in the meeting. It was unanimously decided that joint teams would be formed for regular verification of fertiliser dealers across the tehsil, a stock audit of all warehouses, QR code checks on every sack and Price Control, and that action would continue. Strict legal action will be taken against those who violate the rules.
