Over 70 encroachments removed on Fatima Jinnah Road, Badam Gali and Chohar Mal Road; 4 arrested

QUETTA: Action was taken against illegal encroachments on Fatima Jinnah Road, Badam Gali and Chohar Mal Road on the instructions of Quetta Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini and Quetta Administrator Bashir Ahmed Bareech. The aim is to make the city free of encroachments and better organised.
The action was taken in line with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti’s “Clean Quetta” vision. Assistant Commissioner City Muhammad Hamza, Special Magistrate Imran Zeb Kasi, Ijaz Hussain Khosa, the City Magistrate, the Magistrate of the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta (MCQ) and the Anti-Encroachment Officer of the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta took part.
During the operation, more than 70 illegal encroachments on roads, footpaths and public thoroughfares were removed. The goods used in the encroachments were seized. The Metropolitan Corporation Quetta arrested four people.
The administration had already issued notices to the shopkeepers and others who had set up the encroachments. Legal action was taken when they did not remove them within the given time.
The district administration said operations would continue to keep the city’s main roads, markets and footpaths free of encroachments. It said illegal occupation of public thoroughfares, including state land, would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
