QUETTA: Operations to remove encroachments and improve municipal services in the city are continuing on the orders of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the directives of Metropolitan Corporation Quetta Administrator Bashir Ahmed Barech. In this connection, action was taken against encroachments on Doctor Banu Road and Tola Ram Road under the supervision of Municipal Magistrate Imran Zeb Kasi.

During the operation, action was taken against shopkeepers who had placed goods on roads and footpaths and blocked the way for pedestrians. Six shopkeepers were arrested and sent to jail.

Municipal Magistrate Imran Zeb Kasi said illegal encroachments on roads, footpaths and public places would not be tolerated under any circumstances, as they made it difficult for citizens to move around and also disrupted the flow of traffic. He said operations in different areas of the city would continue more effectively. Shopkeepers were directed to keep their goods within their allotted limits.

According to the municipal administration, the aim of removing encroachments is to improve the flow of traffic, make footpaths usable for citizens, and keep Quetta clean, orderly and attractive. Action against those violating the law will continue without discrimination.
