Pervez Khattak says PM’s remarks on BRT contrary to facts, to raise issue in cabinet

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Affairs Pervez Khattak has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s statement on the BRT is contrary to the facts. He said he would raise the matter with the prime minister at a meeting of the federal cabinet.
In his statement, Pervez Khattak said he reserved the right to take legal action against those who had levelled allegations of corruption over the BRT. The allegations of corruption against BRT Peshawar are baseless.
He said no corruption case relating to the BRT project was pending with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The objections to the BRT were not about corruption but about its technical design.
The former chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said the technical objections to the BRT project had been resolved. The BRT matter has been closed at NAB, and the case relating to the BRT in the Peshawar High Court has also ended.
