LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that work on Danish Schools across the country be speeded up and carried on day and night so that they are completed on time. He made it clear that no compromise on the quality of these institutions would be accepted.

The prime minister was chairing an online review meeting held via Zoom from Lahore on Saturday. The meeting was briefed on the progress of construction of Danish Schools in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sindh and Balochistan.

Federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Ahad Khan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Dr Musadik Masood Malik attended the meeting, along with senior officials of the departments and bodies concerned.

Shehbaz Sharif said children are the future of the country and Danish Schools are an investment in a bright future. According to him, children from extremely poor and deserving families will be admitted to these schools strictly on merit, so that financial circumstances do not stand in the way of talented students.

The prime minister directed that modern methods based on Artificial Intelligence and information Technology be adopted for the education and training of students. He also ordered third-party validation of the schools’ infrastructure, facilities and quality of services.

The Ministry of Communications was directed to build an effective road network for easy access to Danish Schools in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. A strategy for setting up Danish Schools in the merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (the former FATA) was also ordered to be presented soon.
