Khawaja Asif says differences with Fazlur Rehman never reached this point before

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that he has had differences with Maulana Fazlur Rehman before, but they never reached this point.
In an interview, Khawaja Asif said corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had reached its peak in 13 years. He said a large sum was taken for development funds, which went into people’s pockets. He said there were several groups in the PTI, and every group was at war with the others.
The defence minister said he had good relations with Maulana Fazlur Rehman. He said he had had differences with the JUI chief before, but they had not reached this point.
He said he did not want to give Maulana Fazlur Rehman an immediate response. He said the JUI’s claim that it never sought a share in governor’s rule was an expression of innocence.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif said an attack on him personally was not a problem, but the Maulana was attacking the government’s credibility.
