RAWALPINDI: Director General of the Pakistan Army’s media wing, the ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said the Afghan Taliban will have to pay a heavy price if they do not stop supporting terrorists in Pakistan.

In an interview with a British news agency, the DG ISPR said the Afghan Taliban use non-state actors and mercenaries for their malign aims. He said Afghanistan is still run by non-state actors and is a regime.

The Afghan Taliban regime is a proxy of India. India is the biggest sponsor of terrorism in Pakistan. The terrorist groups TTP and BLA are also Indian proxies against Pakistan.

International terrorist organisations

According to the DG ISPR, after the Russian intervention, a number of agencies and proxies established deep roots in Afghanistan. International terrorist organisations such as Jaish al-Adl, Al Qaeda and ISKP are also present in Afghanistan, as the United Nations, the United States and several other countries have pointed out.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistan only asks the Afghan Taliban to stop supporting terrorists inside Pakistan. The Afghan Taliban regime has given shelter to terrorists such as Noor Wali Khawarij, Bashir Zeb and Gul Bahadur. Groups sent to carry out terrorism in Pakistan come from Afghanistan, and they get their weapons from there.

The DG ISPR said that if the Taliban regime does not accept Pakistan’s demands on terrorism, it will have to pay a heavy price. The Afghan Taliban regime has no standing in the world, he said, and the world should force it to behave like a normal state.

The international community should compel the Afghan Taliban to stop the cultivation and production of narcotics. He said the Pakistan Armed Forces fully have the capability to counter all threats from the Afghan regime, including drones.
