LORALAI: A monthly review meeting on the second schedule of EPI vaccinators was held at the EPI Conference Hall in Loralai under the supervision of District Health Officer Dr Faheem Khan. The meeting reviewed the performance of the EPI programme, vaccination targets, field activities and the delivery of immunisation.

Deputy District Health Officer Dr Shah Zaman Hamzazai, Divisional Polio Officer Dr Hanif Looni, MNE Officer Syed Rafiullah Shah, DSV Gul Nawaz Khan Nasir, ASV Adil Ilyas, senior vaccinators and area in-charges from different parts of the bazaar attended the meeting. They presented their performance and progress reports.

Dr Faheem Khan said that making all health department institutions active and effective was the department’s mission, in line with the vision of the Provincial Minister for Health and the Health Secretary. He said the immunisation programme played a basic role in protecting children from dangerous diseases. He told EPI staff not to be negligent in their duties and to achieve the targets at all costs.

He directed all employees to ensure their attendance through the AI-based attendance system and to complete their assigned targets within the set time. He made it clear that negligence, absence or laziness would not be tolerated. He said timely immunisation of children, better maternal and child health and a reduction in maternal and infant deaths were key priorities of the health department. He told field teams to ensure that services reached even remote areas.

The meeting resolved that all resources would be used to increase vaccination coverage and achieve the targets, and that the monthly review of field teams’ performance would continue.
