Inspection of bakeries and tandoors

Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Akram Harifal inspected the quality, prices and cleanliness of food items at various bakeries and tandoors. He directed shopkeepers to ensure the supply of good-quality and clean food to the public. He made it clear that bread and other essential items must be sold according to the official price list, and that the list must be displayed in a prominent place.

He directed bakery and tandoor owners to make special arrangements for cleanliness, keep food items covered, use clean water and strictly follow hygiene rules. He said no compromise would be made on the health and interest of the public.

The assistant commissioner warned shopkeepers that action would be taken according to the law if they charged more than the fixed prices, sold underweight bread, supplied substandard items or kept poor cleanliness arrangements.

On the occasion, he said the Duki district administration was taking practical steps to give relief to the public, control Inflation and ensure the availability of essential items at reasonable prices. Monitoring of price control, cleanliness and the quality of food items in the markets would be made more effective.

He said the district administration would continue surprise inspections of various markets, bakeries, tandoors and other business centres. This, he said, would ensure that the official price list was followed, cleanliness standards were met and good-quality food was supplied to the public.

Shopkeepers praised the steps taken by the district administration and assured it of their full cooperation.
