QUETTA, 2 November: Provincial Adviser on Environment and Climate Change Naseemur Rehman Khan Malakhail has said that clerical staff play a fundamental role in the effective performance of government departments and in providing better services to the public. He said clerks are an important part of the government system, and their services in carrying out office work, maintaining records and moving administrative matters forward effectively are valuable.

Oath-taking ceremony

He was speaking as chief guest at an oath-taking ceremony organised by the All Pakistan Clerks Association Balochistan. Environment Secretary Noor Ahmed Parkani, Director General Environment Zahoor Ahmed Baloch, provincial office-bearers of the All Pakistan Clerks Association, the newly elected cabinet of the Environment unit, and officers and staff attended the ceremony.

Congratulating the newly elected office-bearers, the provincial adviser said the real strength of any organisation lies in its unity, discipline and collective struggle. He hoped the newly elected cabinet would play a positive and constructive role in the welfare of employees, the resolution of their genuine problems and the protection of their rights.

He said government employees are the backbone of the public service system. Recognising their professional abilities, hard work and sense of responsibility, and providing them with a favourable environment, is an important need of the time.

The provincial adviser said employees should also perform their duties with honesty, hard work and a sense of duty so that the public can get better facilities from government departments.

Expectations from the new leadership

Naseemur Rehman Malakhail further said the Government of Balochistan is taking steps to improve institutions, carry out administrative reforms and raise the standard of public services in the province, and the cooperation of government employees is highly important in this.

He expressed the hope that the new leadership of the All Pakistan Clerks Association would effectively raise employees’ problems at the relevant forums and also play its part in improving government departments and promoting the spirit of public service.

At the end of the ceremony, the provincial adviser also administered the oath of office to the newly elected office-bearers. On the occasion, the newly elected president presented an address of welcome. The provincial adviser gave orders on the spot to the relevant officials for immediate action on some of the demands presented in the address, and also gave assurances for the resolution of the remaining demands.
