BARSHORE: Deputy Commissioner Barshore Flight Lieutenant (retd) Khalid Shams has formally inaugurated the anti-polio campaign in the district. The campaign was launched at the event by giving polio drops to a child.

Speaking to the anti-polio teams after the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner said that making Barshore district polio-free was the top priority. He said the district administration had completed all necessary measures on time.

Flight Lieutenant (retd) Khalid Shams praised the services of the polio workers. He directed all workers to perform their duties with national spirit, hard work and dedication, so that no child is left without the protective drops against the deadly disease that causes lifelong disability.

He said children were the builders of the country’s future. He said ensuring their healthy lives was the joint responsibility of the state and society.

The Deputy Commissioner further said a comprehensive micro-plan had been prepared to reach children in remote and sensitive areas during the campaign. He said fool-proof arrangements had also been made for the security of the polio teams.

He appealed to parents, religious scholars and civil society to cooperate fully with the polio teams to make this national campaign a success and to secure their children’s future.
