Jafarabad: Badini and Deputy Commissioner tour canals, direct water to reach tail-end farms

JAFARABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for S&GAD Engineer Abdul Majeed Badini toured several sub-canals in Jafarabad district with Deputy Commissioner Khalid Khan and reviewed the supply of water.

Irrigation Department Sub-Divisional Officer Murad Bakhsh Marri was also present. He gave a detailed briefing on the current water situation, the flow in the canals and the supply of water to farmers.

Engineer Abdul Majeed Badini and Deputy Commissioner Khalid Khan directed that water be distributed fairly so that irrigation water reaches farmers at the tail end. They also directed that all available resources be used to supply farmers with water on time, according to their fixed shares.

They said the government was giving top priority to protecting the agriculture sector and resolving the problems of farmers. They said tail-end farmers in Jafarabad were currently facing severe hardship because of a shortage of irrigation water, which urgently needed to be addressed.
