Usta Muhammad tehsildar inspects bazaar, checks food prices

USTA MUHAMMAD: On 30 October, on the special directions of Deputy Commissioner Usta Muhammad Ramazan Pallal, Tehsildar Usta Muhammad Gaman Khan Bohar visited the local bazaar. He reviewed in detail the prices, quality and availability of food items at various shops.

During the visit, he checked the rates of vegetables, fruit, meat, flour, sugar, pulses, ghee, cooking oil and other essential items of daily use. He also inspected whether shopkeepers were following the officially issued price list. The situation regarding the sale of essential items at fixed prices, self-imposed price increases and the prevention of profiteering was also reviewed.

Instructions for shopkeepers

The tehsildar directed shopkeepers to display the official price list prominently at their shops and to sell all food items at the fixed official rates, so that essential items of daily use remain available to the public at reasonable prices. He made it clear that overcharging consumers, creating artificial inflation and profiteering would not be allowed under any circumstances.

He further said that the district administration was regularly monitoring bazaars to provide relief to the public and to keep prices under control in the market. He said inspections would continue to make Price Control measures effective, and action would be taken in accordance with the law against shopkeepers who violated the rules.

The district administration has appealed to shopkeepers to cooperate with it and, keeping the public interest in view, to ensure that they follow the fixed rates in selling essential items.
