LORALAI: Deputy Commissioner Loralai Captain (retd) Muhammad Haseeb Shuja made a detailed visit to various development projects under way in Loralai under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI). He reviewed construction work, progress and quality on the spot. The Executive Engineer for Buildings and Roads (B&R), Ahmed Din, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ali Nawaz Jamali, and officers of the departments concerned and contractors were also present.

The Deputy Commissioner first inspected the digital library and the women’s gymnasium. According to officials, the grey structure of both projects is in the final stages of completion. He directed the Executive Engineer and the contractor to speed up work, increase labour as required and complete the projects within the set time. He made it clear that no compromise on quality would be tolerated for the sake of speed.

BRC futsal ground and Girls College ground

He also visited the BRC Futsal Ground in Loralai. According to officials, the project has reached the final stages of completion in less than two and a half months. Laying of the astro turf is complete, while work on silica sand and rubber infill is continuing. The Deputy Commissioner strictly directed that the quality of materials be ensured and the remaining work be completed soon. He said projects built with public funds should be durable, of good quality and truly useful to the public.

The futsal ground being built under BSDI at Government Girls College Loralai has also been completed. It will give students a safe and suitable facility for sports and healthy physical activity alongside their studies. The Deputy Commissioner said providing better sports facilities to the younger generation, especially female students, was the need of the hour, because busy playgrounds draw young people towards positive activities.

IT hub ready for inauguration

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed progress on the IT Hub Loralai, which is ready to be inaugurated in the coming days. The hub, set up under BSDI, aims to introduce young people to modern digital technology, teach them new skills and create job opportunities in online work, digital skills and innovation.

Muhammad Haseeb Shuja said the real purpose of development projects was to provide facilities directly to the public and to strengthen the foundation of lasting development. He directed that all projects be monitored continuously, quality be assured and work be completed within the set time. He said the district administration would continue to give full cooperation to all departments in this regard.
