Iran’s military strategy now offensive, response to US aggression will be wider: army

Mohammad Akraminia said in an interview with the Iranian news agency IRNA that, during this war, on one occasion, in the attack on the US base in Jordan, Iran had in fact demonstrated a strategy of pre-emptive action. He said Iran targeted the enemy’s base in Jordan before the enemy entered the war.
On 17 July this year, three US soldiers were killed in Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks on a US base in Jordan.
The Iranian military spokesman further said this was one aspect of the offensive military doctrine, but it had other aspects as well. These include that any act of aggression will be answered immediately, and the response may certainly be wider than the aggression.
Earlier, Ali Abdollahi, then commander of the Iranian army’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, had also said that the armed forces’ military strategy had changed from defensive to offensive.
Iranian Ministry of Defence spokesman Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik claimed that the production of defence weapons and equipment in the country had doubled over the past year. He said that, although parts of Iran’s defence industry were targeted during the 12-day war, local production and quick supply of weapons and ammunition continued. This, he said, played an important role in maintaining Iran’s war capability.
He said that before the 1979 revolution Iran had produced only 31 basic defence products. Now the country was producing more than 1,000 modern defence systems, weapons and ammunition. He said production of some key defence products had risen more than threefold during the war.
