Dubai-Tel Aviv flight makes emergency landing at Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk airport

FlyDubai flight FZ1073, travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, first issued emergency code 7700 and then briefly issued code 7500, which relates to hijacking.
According to flight tracking, the flight was diverted from Jordanian airspace towards Saudi Arabia after the emergency. The aircraft was later surrounded by military aircraft and made to land at Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia. More than 150 Israelis are on board.
A spokesman for the Israeli prime minister said the incident involving the Dubai-Tel Aviv flight was not a hijacking.
Israeli media also reported that, according to an initial assessment, the emergency signal was activated during an argument between the pilots in the cockpit.
After the incident, the crew are being questioned and further investigation is under way to establish why the emergency code was activated during the flight and why the aircraft was diverted towards Saudi Arabia.
