QUETTA: A meeting was held under the chair of Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini to review the performance on the first day of the anti-polio campaign. Officers of the departments concerned, the Health Department, the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI), the World Health Organisation (WHO), UNICEF and other partner organisations attended.

The meeting discussed in detail the progress made on the first day of the campaign, the performance of the teams, coverage, the problems faced and their immediate solution.

Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini directed that no child should be left without polio drops. He directed officers to ensure continuous monitoring of the teams in the field, to reach children who were absent and to use all available resources for the success of the campaign.

He appealed to parents to have their children under five years of age given polio drops so that they could be protected from lifelong disability.
