Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University shaping educated Balochistan, says Governor

QUETTA: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that the remarkable progress of the province’s first women’s university is a proud example of the courage, resolve and change of half of our population. He said this during a meeting with Prof Dr Rubina Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor of Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, at Governor House, Quetta.
The Governor said that, given its great progress, the university is producing information technology experts, engineers, researchers, managers, teachers, entrepreneurs and policymakers. Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University does not merely educate women, he said, but is shaping the bright future of an educated and developed Balochistan.
Mandokhail said that rankings and scores have improved markedly owing to the outstanding performance of Vice Chancellor Dr Rubina Mushtaq and her whole team, but much remains to be done.
Directed to focus on modern skills development
He said that after considerable effort, the Women University has set out on the path of progress and stability. Whatever steps were taken in about two years, and the grave crisis from which the institution was pulled out, are the result of collective wisdom, the continuous struggle of teamwork and intellectual guidance.
The Governor directed the Vice Chancellor to give special attention to modern skills development, along with quality education, in line with the present demands of a fast-changing world. This, he said, would enable our women to contribute meaningfully to the economic and social progress and prosperity of society.
He said that meetings of the Senate and the Syndicate are now being held on time at the Women University. The university is also advancing on both fronts, quality education and modern skills, which is a sign of pride and honour for the province, he said.
