Duki assistant commissioner inspects sub-jail, reviews facilities for prisoners

DUKI: On the directions of Duki Deputy Commissioner Fazal-ur-Rehman Kabdani, Assistant Commissioner Duki Muhammad Akram Khan Harifal paid a detailed visit to Duki Sub-Jail in light of the directions of the Home Department, Government of Balochistan. He reviewed the facilities provided to prisoners, along with administrative and security matters.

The assistant commissioner inspected the barracks, cleanliness, clean drinking water, washrooms, kitchen, quality of food and other basic facilities. He also reviewed the jail’s security arrangements. He was briefed by the jail administration on the total number of prisoners, the jail’s capacity and the accommodation arrangements. He met prisoners in various barracks and learnt about their problems and needs first-hand.

He directed the jail administration to further improve cleanliness, the quality of food, clean drinking water and other facilities, and not to show any negligence in security arrangements. He said the district administration would continue to monitor administrative matters, security and basic facilities in government institutions. He said all institutions had been directed to ensure better facilities within the available resources.
