ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has said there will be no compromise on the state, the armed forces and the martyrs. He said Maulana Fazlur Rehman must withdraw the controversial remarks he has made.

Speaking to the media, Talal Chaudhry said nobody has a personal quarrel with Maulana Fazlur Rehman. “We stand with the state, the armed forces and the martyrs.” He said the standard of politics should not fall so low that martyrdom is made controversial. He said that if politics is done by making martyrdom a subject of debate, politics itself will come to an end.

He said the Interior Minister has spoken only a little so far and wants to say much more. He said the Interior Minister will say a lot more at the right time.

Clarifications are coming from people of the Maulana’s party. If Maulana Fazlur Rehman gives a clarification himself, the matter could settle.

The Minister of State said a terrorist must be called a terrorist. He said they must stand with us in condemning terrorists and in action against them. “Our only condition is that a terrorist be called a terrorist.”
