Netanyahu presses Trump for joint attack on Iran amid divisions in US administration

TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is urging United States President Donald Trump that the United States and Israel carry out joint military action against Iran. He wants it to begin right after the US midterm elections.
According to US media, there are differences within the Trump administration over how to deal with Iran. Some officials favour resuming talks with Tehran. Other officials support further military strikes on Iran.
Meanwhile, an Israeli television channel has reported that the Israeli military has completed all preparations for an attack on Iran. According to the channel, Israeli military officials believe Lebanon’s Hezbollah may also open a front if a direct war with Iran begins.
The report said that, in view of this concern, the Israeli military is reviewing preparations to face possible drone and missile attacks from the northern front at the same time.
However, neither the United States nor Israel has made any formal announcement about a possible joint attack on Iran. For now, the information is based on media reports and claims by sources concerned.
