PCB begins inquiry into media reports on players’ discipline

According to the PCB, the matter is being reviewed under the board’s rules and regulations. All those concerned will be given full opportunity to present their position in the inquiry.

The PCB said speculation appearing on some platforms should not be considered credible. It will not comment further on unconfirmed information and reports at this time.

Sources said an inquiry is under way into the sending home of players after the Lord’s Test and into breaches of discipline. An inquiry is also being held into the keeping of players’ mobile phones.

It may be recalled that after defeats in the first two Tests against England, the PCB made major changes to the national Test squad. It sent several players back home and released the coaches from the team as well.

According to the board, no further comment will be made on the matter at this stage. The concerned circles and the public have been directed to rely only on PCB statements for information.
