Kareena Kapoor hints at role in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ in birthday message

MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has confirmed her role in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘King’ in an Instagram message on his 61st birthday. Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday was on 2 November.

Kareena shared a black-and-white sketch of the two actors facing each other in a dance pose. With the picture she wrote, “Happy birthday, let’s dance together”, and added the date 24-12-26.

Gauri Khan, the film’s producer and Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, replied to the post that it would be fantastic. According to various reports, Kareena will appear in a special dance number in the film.

The two actors will thus be seen together for the first time since the 2011 film ‘Ra.One’. They have earlier worked together in ‘Asoka’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘Ra.One’. Kareena also appeared in brief roles in ‘Don’ and ‘Billu’.

‘King’ is directed by Siddharth Anand, who earlier made ‘Pathaan’ with Shah Rukh. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. It is an action thriller and has been produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.

The first song of the film, ‘Tu Mil Jaye’, was released on Shah Rukh’s birthday. It features Shah Rukh and Deepika. The film will be released in cinemas on 24 December.
