Diljit Dosanjh says Bihar concert did not happen over crowd control responsibility

NEW DELHI: Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has said he could not hold his concert in Bihar because there was no agreement on who would be responsible for handling the crowd. He said this in an Instagram live session after his Delhi concert.

A fan asked when he would bring his Aura tour to Bihar. Diljit replied that he had tried to go to Bihar, and had also tried during the last tour, but was told that the crowd would be difficult to manage. He said he was asked whether he would take responsibility for it, and he replied that they would have to take that responsibility themselves. Since that did not happen, he could not go there.

The singer said it was not a small gathering but a very large crowd, and he also had to think about the arrangements. He said it was like holding an event in Delhi.

Diljit alleged that many people had also tried to stop the Delhi concert, but he managed to hold it and it was difficult. He declined to give details of the problems. He said problems arise during shows around the world, but in India difficulties begin for him in particular as soon as a show starts.

The Indian leg of the Aura tour began in Delhi on 30 October. He has previously performed in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands and Australia.

The next shows will be held in Indore on 15 November, Ahmedabad on 21 November, Mumbai on 27 November, Bengaluru on 29 November, Lucknow on 5 December, Chandigarh on 12 December and Kolkata on 19 December.
