Pakistan will fight hard if drawn against India at Asian Games, says coach Mike Hesson

Speaking to the media in Karachi, Mike Hesson said the squad for the Asian Games was selected five months ago. He said the team chosen is a good one, and if conditions in Japan are favourable, the batting is much improved.

He expressed disappointment over Salman Mirza’s injury. He said Mirza has been in Karachi for the past three days, and that he has worked with Shahnawaz Dahani before.

Mike Hesson said India are playing good cricket. If Pakistan face the Indian team at the Asian Games, they will compete strongly, he said.

The head coach said the Test team is not performing well. However, he said the T20 side is the fourth or fifth best in the world, while the national team’s performance in one-day cricket is improving.
