ISLAMABAD: Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment Bilal Khan Kakar has said that Pakistan’s long-standing friendship and economic cooperation with China can create new prospects for development in Balochistan. Chinese partnership in CPEC and mineral projects can play an important role in turning the province’s natural resources into economic growth, expanding industrial activity and creating job opportunities for young people.

He said this during a meeting with Chinese business representative Mr Du Jun Ji in Islamabad. The Chief Executive Officer of the Balochistan Board of Investment, Abdul Manan, was also present.

On the occasion, they discussed investment in Balochistan’s mineral sector, exploration and development of resources, and the prospects of Chinese investors working together with the Balochistan government.

Call to put cooperation into practice

Bilal Khan Kakar said China has played an important role in various areas of economic cooperation with Pakistan, and CPEC has further highlighted Balochistan’s geographical importance and economic potential. He said cooperation must now be taken forward more effectively for the development of mineral resources, industrial investment and the stability of the local economy.
