PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lawmakers back talks with Centre to end governor’s rule, emergency

PESHAWAR: Geo News, citing sources, has reported that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa parliamentary party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has backed talks with the federal government to end governor’s rule and the emergency in the province.
According to the sources, the parliamentary party met online on Friday. More than 40 members attended, including Ali Amin Gandapur. Party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Noorul Haq Qadri also took part.
The members were of the view that talks should be held with the federal government to resolve issues, including governor’s rule and the emergency. They said the talks should pave the way for the withdrawal of both measures.
The parliamentary party’s position was that PTI’s mandate would be restored once governor’s rule and the emergency ended.
According to the sources, some members also proposed that Ali Amin Gandapur be included in the consultation process for talks with the Centre.
