PALM BEACH COUNTY, Florida: A Learjet bound for the Bahamas crashed onto a road in south Florida on Sunday, killing all nine people on board. Officials said the dead included two crew members and seven passengers.

Tom Chapman, a member of the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), told a press conference in West Palm Beach on Monday that Weather is receiving major attention in the investigation. He said investigators are also examining whether the aircraft began to break apart before it hit the ground. The plane came straight down at the entrance of a mobile home park.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the 22-year-old twin-engine Learjet 60 struck the ground at a speed of 350 feet per second, leaving a large hole in the road.

According to Anthony Robinson, brother of Adam Robinson, Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp and their two young children, four-year-old Emma and two-year-old Charlie, were on the plane. In an online statement, Anthony Robinson also named Rachel Reid, Charmy Fehr and Anita Maria Setina as other passengers who died.

The co-pilot’s stepfather told ABC News that 20-year-old Natalia Gadela Figueras was one of the pilots of the plane.

An official of the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said it is too early to release the identities of the victims officially. The medical examiner’s office is engaged in the lengthy process of collecting and testing DNA.
