Sibi DC Major (retd) Ilyas Kabzai gives polio drops, inspects locked houses himself

SIBI: Deputy Commissioner Sibi Major (retd) Ilyas Kabzai visited different areas of Sibi on the second day of the ongoing anti-polio campaign and inspected the performance of polio teams in the field. He reviewed the process of administering drops at several places and gave polio drops to a number of children with his own hands.
On the occasion, he checked the teams’ tally sheets, vaccine vials and other records, and sought information about the progress and coverage of the campaign.
When the polio teams identified locked houses, the Deputy Commissioner visited these homes himself. The inspection found that families were not present in some of the houses. They had moved to cooler areas because of the summer and had not yet returned.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the teams to ensure that no child is left without polio drops, that records are kept complete and that all resources are used to achieve the targets. He said that the eradication of polio is a shared national responsibility, and urged parents, civil society and the relevant institutions to cooperate fully with the polio teams.
