NAB steps up action, seeks asset records of former KP ministers

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also moved into action after the end of the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to NAB sources, the inactive chief minister, Sohail Afridi, is on NAB’s radar. The asset records of former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur and former ministers Fazal Hakeem and Dr Amjad have been sought.
Sources said NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also started investigations into various projects carried out during the inactive chief minister’s tenure.
NAB has sought from the Communication and Works Department the record of all development work done during Sohail Afridi’s tenure. The bureau has asked for details of how many roads were built and who was awarded the contracts during that time.
Sources said notices have been issued to the Communication and Works Department, the Revenue Department, the registrar of DHA, the PDA and other relevant bodies to submit the records.
Sources said that after the scrutiny of the assets, notices will be issued to the three leaders for inquiry.
Meanwhile, the net is also being tightened around officers involved in illegal recruitments and corruption during the PTI’s rule.
