Awareness session on BEEF scholarships held in Sibi for students

SIBI: An awareness session on Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF) scholarships was held to give deserving and talented students the chance of higher education. It was held under the special directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the provincial government’s education policy.

The session was led by BEEF Chief Executive Officer Khalid Khan Mandokhail and Sibi Deputy Commissioner Major (retd) Ilyas Kubzai. Sibi Assistant Commissioner Mir Bahadur Khan Bangulzai, officials of the education department, principals of various colleges, headmasters and headmistresses of government educational institutions, notables and a large number of students attended.

The session aimed to inform students about the procedure of the BEEF scholarship programme, the eligibility criteria and the educational opportunities available, so that talented students could continue higher education despite financial hardship. Khalid Khan Mandokhail and his Quetta team briefed the participants in detail through a video link. They gave information about students who have benefited from BEEF scholarships over the past ten years, the district’s toppers and the various scholarship programmes.

The BEEF team said applicants must keep in mind the eligibility criteria, academic performance, the prescribed conditions and the online application procedure. Participants were also informed about the facilities and opportunities on offer, including scholarship quotas reserved for minority students and persons with disabilities.

The Balochistan Education Endowment Fund is an important programme that provides educational support to deserving and talented students of the province who face financial hardship. Its aim is to save capable students from being deprived of higher education because of financial obstacles. Eligible students are offered scholarships at various levels of education. Students must understand the eligibility, the deadline, the required documents and the method of submitting applications in advance, and apply within the set time.

Deputy Commissioner Major (retd) Ilyas Kubzai said education is the foundation of a bright future for the young generation and the guarantee of society’s progress. He said the Balochistan government is taking steps to provide every possible facility to deserving and talented students for higher education. He said the BEEF scholarship is an important opportunity for students whose educational progress is held back by financial hardship, and urged them to understand the conditions and submit applications on time.

He directed education department officials, teachers and heads of educational institutions to raise full awareness of BEEF scholarships in their institutions and guide students, so that no eligible and deserving student is left out for lack of information. He said the youth of Sibi district have immense talent, which can become a valuable asset for the future if given suitable opportunities, guidance and support. He added that talented students can play an important role in the progress of their families, the province and the country.
