Defence Day marked at Khan Alam Kapip in Sherani with students’ songs and speeches

SHERANI: A dignified ceremony was held at Khan Alam Kapip in Sherani district to mark Defence Day on 6 September. Local notables, elders, teachers, students and people from various schools of thought attended in large numbers. The district administration also held a rally to mark Defence Day.

Speakers said that on 6 September 1965 the nation and the brave armed forces foiled the enemy’s designs and wrote a history of courage and sacrifice. They said Pakistan was a strong and secure country today because of those sacrifices. Students presented national songs and speeches.

Speakers urged the younger generation to adopt education, unity, discipline and patriotism as their way. At the end of the ceremony, prayers were offered for the security of the country and for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs. The participants pledged to stand shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces.
