SHERANI: An introductory meeting of officers of all line departments of the district was held under the chair of Sherani Deputy Commissioner Kalimullah. Officers of the district administration and various government departments attended. The meeting reviewed in detail the performance of departments, public facilities, ongoing development and welfare activities, and the problems they face.

The Deputy Commissioner congratulated the officers on their posting to Sherani district. He said the basic duty of government officers was to provide the public with timely and good-quality services. He expressed the hope that all officers would perform their duties with honesty, sincerity and responsibility. The officers then briefed the meeting on the performance of their departments, their activities, public services, resources, administrative problems and future plans.

Kalimullah directed the officers to ensure their attendance and presence in Sherani district. He told them not to confine government work to office routine, but to go into the field and review public problems. He said no negligence would be tolerated in providing education, health, drinking water, communications, agriculture, livestock and other basic facilities. All departments, he said, should work with a coordinated strategy, and there should be no compromise on the quality of development work.

The Deputy Commissioner said that redressing public complaints, completing government work on time and implementing government policies effectively were the top priorities of the district administration. He told officers to listen to the problems of citizens visiting their offices and to avoid unnecessary delay. The meeting also stressed improving government services in remote areas. Finally, he directed the officers to present workable proposals for improving performance. He said citizens’ trust in government institutions could be strengthened only through better governance, transparency and public service.
