Awareness seminar in Sanjawi stresses importance of breastfeeding

SANJAWI: An awareness seminar on breastfeeding was held in cooperation with the Balochistan Nutrition Directorate on the orders of Deputy Commissioner Abdul Quddus Achakzai and Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

Assistant Commissioner Sanjawi Mir Man Kakar, District Health Officer Ziarat Dr Rafiq Mastoi, MS Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Sanjawi Dr Abdul Baqi, DM PPHI Ziarat Mumtaz Ali Rind, District Coordinator Malaria Control Programme IHHN Jumma Khan and District Coordinator BND Programme Ziarat Ali Shan attended the seminar.

The participants discussed in detail the importance of starting breastfeeding immediately after a child’s birth, feeding only breast milk for the first six months, and proper nutrition for mother and child. At the end of the seminar, they pledged to promote public awareness of breastfeeding and to continue efforts for better health of mothers and children.
