HARNAI: A special ceremony was held at City police station Harnai on Defence Day of Pakistan. Tribute was paid to the martyrs and veterans of 6 September 1965.

Addressing the ceremony, SP Harnai Engineer Abdul Hafeez Jakhrani said 6 September 1965 was a shining chapter in the nation’s history, when the armed forces foiled the designs of the enemy and wrote new tales of valour. He said the free, sovereign and dignified atmosphere in which we breathe today is the fruit of the great sacrifices of the martyrs and veterans.

At the end of the ceremony, prayers were offered for the security of the country and for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs. The participants pledged that Harnai police and the people stand shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in defending the homeland.
